When did you first start thinking about the priesthood?

Its a feeling that has always been around me.  I just never acted on it before

What were some major Catholic activities you participated in prior to the seminary? (e.g. Any world youth Day's? Any Major parish events? Any seminary/ Vocation Retreats? Movements? Cursillo? Pilgrimages?)

Involved in my church as a lector and helping out where needed

How did you come to know Jesus Christ?

I am still learning about Jesus Christ every day of my life

What is one of your favorite scripture passages? Why?

When Simon/Peter walks on water and then loses his faith in Jesus and asks Jesus to save him..If Peter can be that close to Jesus and lose faith it shows me that there is hope for all of us to be close to Jesus and ask for his help..

Please describe the importance of prayer in your life.

Prayer is resposible for where I am today---The Holy Spirit listens and responds with Gods words to our requests

What are some of you your favorite books, spiritual readings, magazines?

The lives of the Saints is interesting..Asking Questions about the saints lives of people who have a greater knowledge is a big help.

Is seminary formation what you thought it would be? How has it been similar or different from your expectations?

Life in the Seminary has been amazing. The lives of so many different men from around the world all ending up with the same purpose is truly God at work. A lot harder than I anticipated a far as the academics is concerned but so necessary for a good foundation...

What activities would you recommend in order to foster a culture of vocations?

Getting the word out that there is a place for older vocations...Inviting younger people to visit the seminaries just to look around

Did anyone invite you to consider priesthood? Please explain.

I was considering looking into being Deacon and the Parish priest said that I should look into the Priesthood---I had no idea that a seminary existed for delayed vocations--If he had not mentioned it I would not have considered

What were some of the spiritual events or activities that helped you develop and shape your personal relationship with Christ and His Church?

I have always felt comfortable in Gods presence..When the Pope came to Boston, my wife and I felt a special feeling as he drove past us. I walked away from the Church for a while and found out later on that even though I had given up on Christ He was waiting for me to return

What signs led you to believe that God was calling you to be a priest?

When I reflect on my life There are moments that I feel Jesus must have been present or I would not be where I am today.

Please tell us, what are some of the most important parts of discernment?

Talk with someone who has been there---Pray..take your time making this decision--it is not for everyone...

Who influenced you/ inspired you to priesthood? Please explain.

all the people I have met on life's journey have helped shape me into what I am today for better or worse..

What would you say to a young man who thinks he may have a vocation?

Talk and pray--visit a seminary..ask questions....talk to seminarians and priests who have recently been ordained
