What are some of the factors that led to your decision to enter the seminary and discern the question of a vocation to the priesthood? |
The most important factors that led to my decision to the enter the seminary were prayer, the guidance of my spiritual directors and an openness to God's will.
Who are some of the people who influenced your decision to enter the seminary? What is it about them that assisted you? |
The people that have influenced my decision to enter the seminary have been my parents, two great spiritual directors, and Br.Didacus. They have encourage me to seek God's will and to let God's will enfold in my life. They also have encouraged me to enter the seminary, believing that I have a vocation to the priesthood. If it was not for their help and encouragement, I would not be here in the seminary, studying for the priesthood.
What would you say is the role of prayer in the life of a seminarian and what effect does it have on one's ability to see God's call? |
The role of prayer is very important in the life of a seminarian. It is through prayer that we communicate with God and see God's call in our lives. If I didn't pray it would very hard to for me to see God's call in my life. It is through prayer that men are formed for the priesthood.
What advice would you give to a man who thinking about his vocation and is considering that God may be calling him to be a priest? |
The first thing is to have a strong prayer life, which would help him to discern God's call. Also go to Mass everyday and try to spend at least once or twice a week for one hour of adoration. It is important to have a spiritual director (preferably a priest) and meet at least once a month. Finally it would be good to start the process right away with the vocation office. It could take at least a year to do the whole process.
What do you like most about being a seminarian? |
I like everything about being a seminarian. It is getting me ready to be a priest.
What do you think is the greatest challenge facing a man who is considering the seminary? |
The greatest challenge facing a man to the priesthood is not having support from family and friends-worrying what people will think if you are considering the seminary.
What are some of your hobbies or pastimes? What are some of the things you like to do in your "free" time? |
I like to exercise, swim, take walks and go hiking. Also like to read and watch movies, when I have the chance.
What are some of your favorite authors/books/movies? |
Some of my favorite authors are C.S.Lewis,Scott Hahn, and Christopher West. My favorite movies are the Lord of Rings, movies of the lives of the saints, musicals, and old movies.
What do you think is the best way to encourage vocations to the priesthood in the archdiocese of Boston? |
The best way to encourage vocations would be to have adoration for vocations in all churches in the Archdiocese of Boston. Also, to have talks with young me around the diocese. Finally to encourage parents to encourage their sons to a vocation to the priesthood. |
