Good Shepherd Sunday

Good Shepherd Sunday is the Fourth Sunday or Easter and World Day of Prayer for Vocations each year.

It is a good weekend, usually relatively close to ordination weekend, to encourage the whole parish to pray for vocations to priesthood and consecrated life.  Several resources are available to help the whole parish pray for vocations and to build up a Culture of Vocations.

Each year the Holy Father writes a letter on the occasion of the annual World Day of Prayer for Vocations.  A copy can always be found on the Vatican website.

Each year, Vianney Vocations, a company that sells materials to promote a Culture of Vocations, puts out a useful resource guide for Priests.  This guide can be used to promote a Culture of Vocations in the Bulletin and weekend Mass. Click here to download.
