The only direct command the Lord gave to us regarding Vocations is found in the Gospel According to St. Luke, Chapter 10: “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest!”
In these words, Jesus makes clear His desire that we actively pray that men and women be called to serve Him and the Church as Priests and Religious. So, one of the first activities of a Parish or Collaborative Vocation Team is to energize the entire parish or collaborative in praying for vocations. This can take a number of different forms, some of which are outlined and provided for you as you do Vocation Ministry in your parish or collaborative.
